OVERVIEW
Queenie, Channel 4’s lead drama based on Candice Carty-Williams' best-selling novel, launched in Summer 2024.
To support the show’s launch, 4Studio worked on a social and digital campaign, including supporting shoulder content featuring talent from the drama series.

The Brief
Queenie was a major drama for C4 in 2024 and 4Studio were on hand to create a collection of side content to support the show’s launch across social. Drawing inspiration from the Queenie book series, I designed a visual identity to help bring the social content to life, whilst ensuring the campaign felt harmonious and aligned with other press and out-of-home launch activity.
Process
The visual identity for the campaign was translated across to a digital campaign to amplify the launch of Queenie on Channel 4's social and digital platforms, including YouTube and Instagram, through a series of motion graphics and static social posts.


The typography was based on the existing Channel 4 font, but adapted with a drop shadow effect to match the Queenie book cover aesthetic.
A two tier typographic lockup was constructed and replicated across the social campaign.







As part of the launch event campaign, I designed a custom Queenie inspired banknote. These celebratory banknotes were created for digital and print usage, with the notes later being presented to talent at the press launch event in Brixton, London.

The creative process included sourcing reference materials, creating a two-tone colour palette that aligned with the show's core identity, and sourcing an appropriate photograph of Queenie to use on the banknote.
